Contemporary American restaurant and lounge Caramel is gracing our British shores for the first time, and on London’s very own Brompton Road.
The restaurant, actually a Middle Eastern import, comes to Knightsbridge with the hope of luring us off the street and in to its silky lair with a delicious menu inspired by a variety of nationalities. To give you a small taste Chef Sunil Vaz will be preparing dishes such as TNT Shrimp, Caramel’s Petite beef sliders and lobster tempura.
Inside, the decor has been inspired by the art-deco era, with its statement furniture, plush upholstery and asymmetric designs. Moodily lit, the light will be bouncing off shining marble work tops Italian tiles and natural metal finishings of brass and copper.
They’ll also be serving multiple dishes for breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea and puddings (for all their sweet toothed friends). So perhaps a chicken and sweet potato hash will tempt you to break your morning fast? Pr a Chinese chicken salad to keep you going through your afternoon shopping spree?
As the nights draw in, and the guests gravitate towards the bar Caramel have put on an extensive cocktail list, all hand chosen by the well-known hospitality mixologist Bryan Pieterson. Try the Brompton Sapphire, made from Bombay Sapphire, infused with orange, Kamm and Sons, lime, London Essence Co bitter orange and elderflower tonic.
So whether it’s food, drink, or simply a glamorous place to put down your shopping bags and catch up with a friend, Caramel London should be your next Knightsbridge pit stop. Keep your eyes peeled for its doors opening later this month.
