What: Caramel
In a nutshell: Middle East restaurant comes to London
Summing it all up: Caramel hails from the Middle East, but the food has a more western feel to it. And expect an art-deco feel to the look of the restaurant.
The low-down
You may not have heard of Caramel yet, but they already have restaurants in Muscat, Abu Dhabi and Dubai – and now their fourth restaurant is coming to Kensington.
While the place hails from the Middle East, the food they’ll be serving swerves away from the cuisine there and instead, promised for the menu are dishes like TNT shrimp, “petite beef sliders” and lobster tempura. And as it’s an all-day restaurant, breakfast/brunch includes chicken sweet potato hash, Chinese chicken salad and honey & Pecorino ravioli. They’ll be serving afternoon tea too.
The cocktail menu has been put together by Bryan Pietersen (of Purl) and includes the Brompton Garden – “Bombay Sapphire infused with orange, Kamm & Sons, lime, London Essence Co bitter orange & elderflower tonic.”
