Caramel Group Annouces Strategic Partnership with Muscat Based Al Zaman Hospitality

U.A.E. based hospitality operator Caramel Group has announced that Muscat based Al Zaman Hospitality has acquired a 50% equity in the company as of this month. Mohammed Al Hashimi, founder of Caramel Group, said:

I am delighted to announce this partnership. In Al Zaman Hospitality, we found a company that shares our vision and matches our ambition to develop and galvanize the Caramel brand.

Khalid M Zaman, Managing Director of Al Zaman Group of Companies, added:

In recent years we have assembled many ambitions for our food division, and in Caramel Group, we identified the operator that could help us achieve those ambitions both domestically and internationally. I am thrilled to share this news.

The Caramel Group portfolio currently includes flagship venue, Caramel Restaurant & Lounge – Dubai, which opened at the heart of the Dubai International Financial Centre in March 2010. The unprecedented success of Caramel Dubai, saw a natural progression for the brand to open its second venue in the U.A.E. capital, Abu Dhabi the following year. The fall of 2013 saw the opening of family concept MO’s, an all-American family dining concept serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in the CITY WALK Dubai. Caramel Group then advanced across the seas to secure a third Caramel in Nairobi, Kenya in June 2014.

As of this month, Caramel Group will assume operations of two existing Al Zaman Hospitality owned properties namely Indian fine-dining restaurant The Indus, in the Royal Opera House Muscat, as well as contemporary Arabic themed beachfront property, Moorish.

With both companies enjoying the prosperous launch of the fourth Caramel, in Muscat neighboring The Indus, plans are already being made for the inception of new dining concepts in Muscat as well as for future projects internationally.
The first of which is now collectively announced by both companies as a fifth Caramel restaurant in Knightsbridge, London in Summer 2017.
